We had plans to visit the Oregon Zoo planned one month ago and then there had to be a baby elephant born last week that the mother didn't like and started kicking it around. Well, once an elephant starts kicking its new baby around it tends to make national news so 8-30-08 was the first day the public could see the new baby elephant and we were there! Ok, we didn't actually see the baby elephant because the line was about 500 people deep at any given time. We did however see the rest of the zoo at it was great because everyone else was standing in line so we had free reign of the zoo. Hannah was joined by her big sister Zoey and little brother Ryan. Ryan's big sister Jilian also joined us and later we ran into Teresa's brother Mike and his two girls, Josie and Julie. We all had a great time and the kids loved the train ride around the park. I can't begin to tell you how excited Hannah gets when she knows she is about to ride a train!
Sunday was great because Hannah got to see grandma Colleen for a few hours before she caught her flight back home to Boise. Grandma Colleen always spoils us when she is here and we LOVE it.
Hannah's eye is healing just fine and we are getting used to the house being quiter without Rock running around everywhere. We all miss him and Hannah asks about him every few days. She'll soon forget she had dog which I guess in this case is not such a bad thing.
Today we meet a couple who contacted us about the adoption process and we are going to share our story with them to help educate them on the process Heritage Adoption has. We feel good when we can help out other families in the adoption process and we hope we bring some clarity to a foggy process.
Take care!
